I actually remember seeing this in 1971. I was 6 years old and had heard the song, because I lived for the radio and always had it on if I could, but I didn’t know what toke meant. When it aired, we were living on 11 acres in Ruskin, BC just outside the boundary for cable, and being Canada, we only got 3 1/2 channels. So we’d suffer through Lawrence with his weird accent once a week. My parents born in 1944 and 1946 hated the show too, but we had little choice for indoor entertainment.

I remember this Gilligan's Island episode and this is NOT the song they were singing. I can't but help mention the show's entire crew couldn't stand Ginger (Tina Louise.) Her agent got her to sign on by lying and saying she would be THE Star of the show, and she couldn't ever get it that she wasn't. When the later Reunion show was filmed, they made sure to Not invite her.
